Annemarie de Villiers

LONDON

I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa where I studied medicine. In 1994 I moved to London and work here as a GP and skin surgeon for the NHS.

I have done figurative ceramics since my student days and sculpture in its various forms remains my great passion. Since studying silversmithing in London I have been using my sculpture skills to create wax carvings which are then cast in sterling silver to create unique one-off pieces of jewellery.

I use natural gemstones and many of the rings are carved to fit the stones.

I find inspiration in the organic shapes of nature as well as the jewellery of ancient cultures.
