I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. In 1994 I moved to London and work here as a GP.

My sculptural work is about the human form and its expressions, be they tragic or comical
I have worked figuratively in clay for many years.

Jewellery: I like the idea of wearable art and draw my ideas from many sources: Japanese netsuke, the Venus figurines, the plaster casts from Pompeii, paintings by Hieronymus Bosch and Brueghel, comics, personal photographs and life drawings - anything that interprets the human form in an interesting and unusual way. Something that tells a story. I like creating unique sculptural pieces, carving in wax and casting in silver, and normally produce a small collection based on each idea before my imagination takes me somewhere else. The process becomes a meditation. I like my pieces to be evocative, playful, sentimental, mysterious and joyful - each of them to be worn or carried like a talisman by its owner.
